South Lake Tahoe knows how to throw a holiday bash and the one planned this Friday is sure to bring smiles, thrills and some welcome bliss after the weekend's series of storms.
The annual Community Winter Tree Lighting will be Friday at the California Visitor Center, 3066 Lake Tahoe Blvd. South Lake Tahoe and runs from 5 to 7 p.m.
Along with hot chocolate and cookies served up by the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority inside the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, there’ll be free Borges Sleigh Rides, holiday carols by the Tahoe Schools Choir, Menorah lighting and a food and toy drive benefiting Christmas Cheer, a local food bank.
