Submitted by Editor on Mon, 06/25/2012 - 3:32am
Bring a blanket, a picnic and the family for an hour of beautiful music on the lawn outside the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library. Sponsored by Friends of the Library, this free community event is happening Wednesdays through July from 6 to 7 pm. Artists featured include:
— July 11th: Seán Cummings, piper of over 25 years performing experience, will bring the thrill and spectacle of Scottish Highland Bagpipes to Music on the Library Green. Bring a blanket, a picnic or just the family and enjoy listening to this distinctive and haunting music.
- July 18th: Tom and Mary Kay Aufrance (“Slim and Minnie”) bring old time favorites and singalongs that people love to hear. This music traces its heritage back to Ireland and Scotland via the American immigrants who came over the waves and then headed out across the mountains and the plains. These tunes may be Celtic in origin, but are familiar to all.
- July 25th: A Tahoe favorite, Dream Spirit Baroque Band is classical and memorable with their repertoire as well as their interesting combination of instruments: Cello, Violin, Guitar/Mandolin, Hammer Dulcimer/Recorder
