Valhalla Tahoe Announces New Festival Director

Putting on the annual Valhalla Art, Music and Theatre Festival takes more than a village. It requires the skills, creativity and organization of a Festival Director. The Tahoe Tallac Association, which produces the Festival, is pleased to announce its new Festival Director, Evangeline Elston.

Elston, who grew up in Silver City, Nevada, on the Comstock, not far from Lake Tahoe, has a wide ranging career in music and events, including live music, radio and festivals. Besides booking and promoting independent artists on tours across the U.S., she has also owned her own café and music venue, creating and maintaining a well -respected roots music listening room that attracted nationally touring artists and also spotlighted the incredible pool of local talent in the Sierra Foothills and across California.

In addition, she has served on the Board of Directors of the South Yuba River Citizens League for seven years and provided key leadership in the successful campaign to make the South Yuba River a Wild and Scenic River. She played a key role in the development and launch of the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival, now one of the country’s largest environmental film festivals, known and respected world-wide.

“I’m thrilled to be back home in and around the Sierra Nevada to direct the Valhalla Music, Art and Theatre Festival.”, said Elston. “I’m looking forward to the challenge of directing this event, and hope to bring some new ideas and acts to the Festival.”
