South Lake Tahoe Community Blood Drive on Friday, May 1

Event Date:
May 1, 2015 - 12:00pm

BloodSource will hold a South Lake Tahoe Community blood drive to meet the community need for blood and blood products. The new blood drive location will be at the South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Center Gymnasium at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd. The blood drive is sponsored by the Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Walk-ins are welcome.

Thanks to the generosity of local donors when you receive care at a Sacramento-area hospital, such as Kaiser Permanente, UC Davis Medical Center, Sutter or Mercy hospitals, the blood you receive comes from BloodSource blood donors. BloodSource provides blood to Barton Memorial Hospital.

About Blood Donation:

Donating blood is safe, easy and takes about an hour. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be 17 years old (16 year olds need a signed BloodSource Parental consent form) and be generally healthy. There is no upper age limit for blood donations. Donors must bring a photo ID and should drink plenty of fluids before donating. Potential marrow donors can register for Be the Match through BloodSource. Find more information at www.bloodsource.org.
