Kudos: Lake Tahoe Humane Society Has a New Home

For the Love of Animals in South Lake Tahoe

Congratulations to the Lake Tahoe Humane Society on their new home! This summer will be like no other for the Lake Tahoe Humane Society as they just purchased 884 Emerald Bay Rd for their new corporate headquarters.
We would also like to welcome the new director for the South Lake Tahoe Humane Society, Nicola Congero. With just 5 months under her belt as director, she is the new power house that’s adding a new charge and taking this non-profit organization to the next level. You may call her an innovator and a masterful thinker, but she always has the animals’ best interest in mind when making a decision.

The purchase of this property is a bold move, but a smart decision to save thousands of dollars in the long run. Also owning this property makes it possible for the Lake Tahoe Humane Society to have additional space for temporary sheltering of Tahoe pets during a wildfire or other disaster which was not possible in an office rental situation. We feel it was purchased prior to the predicted up swing of the real estate market.

This has been a huge undertaking with the participation of countless local professionals and several business owners, to have this successful transaction take place. A special thank you to all the local business that support the Lake Tahoe Humane Society including Cork & More, South Tahoe Stand Up Paddle, Best in Show, Tahoe’s Best Friends, Tahoe Production House and so many more, to the Veterinarians that help the Lake Tahoe Humane Society with spay/neuters and emergency vet care -Sierra Veterinary Hospital, Alpine Animal Hospital and Round Hill, attorney Joe Tilson, financial advisor Wayne Omel, the board of directors for the Lake Tahoe Humane Society including Lorna Lefler (president), Sue Pritchett (treasurer) and the newest member Heidi Tredwell, Monique McIntyre with Coldwell Banker and past City Council member and former President of the Lake Tahoe Humane Society Judy Brown; whom this project could not have been completed without.

This property will be retrofitted to meet city ordinances including ADA compliancy. It has been a pleasure working with everyone to complete this transaction. We feel the Humane Society is a must have in the Basin. We are confident their new neighbors and shopkeepers will be impressed by their new look, energy and will continue to support a great cause.

Craig Robinson of Keller Williams Realty has been completing real estate transactions over the last 15 years. He has given back countless donations to the Humane Society throughout the years. In his opinion, it’s not about commissions that feel so good; it’s about giving back to the community especially when it comes to donating for the good of animals. He represented the Lake Tahoe Humane Society on the purchase at a heavily discounted commission structure to once again give back.
