Letter: Special themed sales all year long at South Lake Tahoe Library
Submitted by paula on Sun, 01/03/2021 - 9:59pm
Happy New Year from the Friends of the Library of South Lake Tahoe! We want to thank you for your support during this last year through your donations, both books and contributions, to help us supplement our Library’s book and program budgets.
As our Covid-19 restrictions are still in place, we will continue our emphasis on honor sales from the bookcases in the lobby, conveniently located right next to the hand sanitizer. Check out the South Lake Tahoe Library's Facebook page for Media Spotlight specials that change monthly. Those books will be at least half off the regular price, or better.
January is the time for New Year’s resolutions. Accordingly, all self-help books will be priced at 50 cents each. Those books may emphasize healthy living, inspiration, new hobbies and different approaches to cooking. January is also cold and time to enjoy cozy home activities, especially now. All digital media, including books on CD, DVDs and music on CDs will also carry the special price of 50 cents each. This is the time to stock up, and thanks to the many donations we have received, we have quite a variety.
Future monthly specials include: February: Romance Fiction…just in time for Valentine’s Day! March: Mystery Madness! April: Avoid the reality of tax time. All Sci-Fi, Speculative Fiction and Fantasy. May: Gardening and Craft books, time to go outside! June: Sports and Recreation books, let’s play!
We look forward to seeing our friends and neighbors again at our community book sales when such gatherings are safe. In the meantime, we appreciate your ongoing support. For more information about library activities, check out their website at eldoradolibrary.org. To learn more about the Friends of the Library, including membership, go to eldoradolibraryfriends.org.
The library is open Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. They are located at 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.
