DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) responded to the 900 block of Dresslerville Road in Gardnerville on the report of a deceased person at approximately 1:20 p.m.
According to County officials, the DCSO initial investigation has resulted in this incident being classified as a homicide and belief this case is related to the murder a few days ago of a Gardnerville woman on nearby James Road.
Dresslerville Road is closed for an indefinite amount of time for an active investigation. Residents living on the road will be asked to show ID and escorted to their homes.
DCSO has a heightened sense of concern for community safety and asks that all Douglas County residents lock their doors and windows, leave outside light illuminated during the hours of darkness, and ensure that all home security systems are functional. They have increased patrol activities throughout the county with an increased emphasis on the Gardnerville Ranchos.
Please report any suspicious activity or noises immediately.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is made available.
