Chance of rain and snow in South Lake Tahoe for next week

The snow in South Lake Tahoe on Thursday started almost exactly at the time the winter weather advisory said it would: 2 p.m. The advisory is in effect until 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 15.
Chain controls are up on all mountain roads around Lake Tahoe, and with 3-5" snow expected during the evening, expect them to stay up all night.
Chain controls as of 4:30 p.m. Thursday:
Kingsbury Grade - Chains or snow tires
Spooner Summit / Hwy 50 - Chains or snow tires
Echo Summit / Hwy 50 - Chains or 4WD with snow tires from 1.5 miles west of Kyburz to Meyers
Hwy 88 - Chains or 4WD with snow tires from Cook's Station to Woodfords
Hwy 89 - Chains or 4WD with snow tires from Markleville to Woodfords, from Pickett's Junction to Christmas Valley, from 5 miles north of the Y to Bliss State Park
Forecast from the National Weather Service:
This Afternoon - A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight - Snow likely before 10pm, then rain and snow between 10pm and 1am, then snow after 1am. Low around 32. Windy, with a southwest wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Friday - Snow showers, mainly before 7am. High near 39. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Friday Night - Snow, mainly after 10pm. Low around 31. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Saturday - Rain and snow before 10am, then rain between 10am and 4pm, then a slight chance of rain and snow after 4pm. High near 41. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Saturday Night - A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 10pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Sunday - Rain and snow likely, mainly after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
