Hair of The Dog Pet Concierge opens inside Hard Rock Lake Tahoe

STATELINE, Nev. - A full service pet concierge is now open in Lake Tahoe, one that offers pet grooming, day care, massage, a self-service dog wash and activities for our four-legged friends like hiking, walking and swimming.

To accommodate a growing number of travelers visiting Lake Tahoe with their pets, Hair of the Dog Pet Concierge has opened up inside the Hard Rock Hotel. Not only the above list, pet nutrition and fitness work will be added to their menu of options.

A grand opening of the shop will be held on Saturday, January 19 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tour the facility and meet the co-owners Pamela Crowell and Rita Hogan.

To work within their client's schedules, Hair of The Dog's hours are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. seven days a week to start, and they'll adjust during shoulder seasons. They will also open early for special requests for those early hikes or tee times. They are located in the old Powder House shop, easy to access via valet parking.

Wanting to give humans a great experience for their pets while traveling (and for those living here), Crowell said they want to give owners options on what to do with their "fur babies."

"I believe our services will benefit both owners and pets in that the owner may now have options knowing their pet is also enjoying itself versus staying in an unfamiliar room," said Crowell. "The owner can now venture out and perhaps enjoy gaming tables, restaurants, concerts, skiing or a round of golf."

The new spot offers wire crate rentals for those that do not want to bring the pet into a facility, this provides the pet comfort while left alone and can alleviate anxiety that can lead into destruction or barking (aka singing, said Crowell).

"We can facilitate pick-up and delivery of either the dog or the crate upon reservation request," she added.

Their goal is to provide excellent service and give fur babies their devotion and service.

"Our vision is to give options of Fido having as much fun and enjoying Lake Tahoe as the owner, with such we will hang out with the animal, freeing up the owner to perhaps enjoy gambling, shows, or nice dinner out w/out the pressure or worries of their animal they left behind,: said Crowell.

In the future the shop will add dog training and agility classes.

For the busy pet owner, Hair of the Dog is a true concierge and will pick up your pet, drive them to appointments and/or deliver them to another destination.
