A new education endowment has been established at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village in memory of the late John Nemes, a teacher in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District for over 30 years.
This is the college's first teacher education endowment and will provide scholarships to support future teachers and honors the beloved Tahoe teacher who died on October 2, 2016.
Nemes passed on to his students a love of reading that came straight from his heart. John also loved gardening, his dog Buddy, Fallen Leaf Lake, a great glass of wine, and a good laugh.
The John Nemes Endowment provides scholarship support to students who reside in South Lake Tahoe and are enrolled in SNC teacher education curriculum.
