Whittell High's basketball team wins Northern Nevada Division IV title

Whittell High School is heading to the Nevada state championships next week as the #1 seed from the north after taking care of Mineral County, winning 60-44.
The Warriors trip to the Northern Nevada Division IV title began with a 14-0 regular season record. In round one of the tournament they beat Jackpot 69-36, followed by a semifinal Whittell victory over Pyramid Lake 60-49.
The state tournament starts Friday, February 27 in Reno. Opponent and location is not yet set on the NIAA tournament website. What is known is their game time is 8:00 p.m. Winner of that match-up goes to the title game on February 29 at Lawler Events Center at 4:30 p.m.
