Find out how to get involved at Helping Hands Volunteer Fair

Event Date:
March 15, 2017 - 3:00pm

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIF. - - In 1977, Live Violence Free was founded by volunteers with a phone booth and a desire to make South Lake Tahoe a safer, happier place to live.

Many other local nonprofits in the area have similar stories of their origin. South Lake Tahoe’s nonprofit and other service organizations were forged out of volunteerism. Dedicated individuals looking to make a difference have laid the foundation for the strong culture of service that exists in our community.

To further this culture, people need to continue to give time and labor back to the community.

On Wednesday, March 15, Live Violence Free will host the “Helping Hands” Volunteer Fair in the Lake Tahoe Community College Commons. Service organizations and nonprofits in need of volunteers will have booths set up at the event from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. to inform interested locals of services provided and how they can get involved in what they do.

The “Helping Hands” Volunteer Fair is designed to connect those in the South Tahoe area with skills, time, and passion to give with organizations that most need community support.

If you are a potential volunteer, tell LVF you're going to attend on their Facebook Event Page (https://www.facebook.com/events/1205593539554002/).
