Choices for Children seeking child care providers in South Lake Tahoe

If you are a parent looking for child care, you have probably encountered some challenges. There is currently a shortage of child care slots in El Dorado County. Many child care facilities who offer care are full and have waiting lists. This situation is very frustrating for parents and their employers. In order to work, parents are forced to juggle child care between friends, neighbors, and family members which can often be inconsistent and unreliable. Parents may also be forced to consider a child care situation of questionable quality.

To help meet the high demand for child care, Choices for Children (CFC), the Child Care Resource and Referral Agency in El Dorado County are looking for people who may be interested in providing quality child care in the following child care environments:

Family Child Care Home – Become a licensed Family Child Care Provider and operate your own small business while staying home with your own children. By contacting CFC you can learn about the licensing process, demand for care in your area, estimated start-up expenses and average child care rates.

Licensed Exempt – A License Exempt provider can take care of one family’s children in addition their own. By completing a CPR class and TrustLine background check, you can be placed on the Choices for Children referral list.

Infant Caregiver – Child Care Centers need infant caregivers. If you have some ECE credits or are interested in taking some college classes, you can work in a classroom with babies. Check the employment opportunities list on the Choices for Children website under Provider Support.
