LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – With a critical increase in active shooter events across the country, the Tahoe Chamber is holding a Level UP Workshop on the subject Wednesday, March 20 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in their Stateline office.
Workplace violence affects about 2 million workers in the U. S. each year. With this violence continuing to pose a looming threat, active shooter training is essential for all businesses. Active shooter events most commonly occur in businesses - 45 percent, schools - 25 percent, and government facilities - 10 percent.
This Level UP Workshop: Active Shooter Training for Businesses is designed to help business owners and employees recognize warning signs related to active shooting events and effectively respond if violence occurs. Attendees will also learn what to expect from law enforcement in these situations, and what information if pertinent to deliver to the police during their response.
The workshop facilitator will be Detective Scott Crivelli, an active shooter instructor and an operator on the SWAT team. As a member of the South Lake Tahoe Police Department for 10 years, Crivelli is a highly respected detective and community member. He is currently assigned to property crimes and was formerly a K-9 handler.
The cost for this Level UP Workshop is $10 for chamber members ($20 for non-members). To register for this workshop, visit www.tahoechamber.org.
