In place of the annual awards dinner the community was invited to tune in virtually with hosts Chris Fiore from the City of South Lake Tahoe and Meg Peart from the Tahoe Resource Conservation District. South Tahoe Now reached out to the candidates and below are their answers to a set of questions. For the two four-year terms, incumbent Kelly Sheehan is running for reelection, Duane Wallace is running after being appointed to fill Jim Jones's spot on the board until this election, and they are joined by David Peterson.

Workplace violence affects about 2 million workers in the U. S. each year. With this violence continuing to pose a looming threat, active shooter training is essential for all businesses. This new ongoing series will be held the third Wednesday of very month through the rest of 2017. Kicking off Level Up is "Incorporating your Business: Is it for you?" on August 16 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Learn the latest South Shore business business resources and hot topics by hearing from expert hosts who discuss a variety of topics including business incorporation, recreational marijuana, sales strategies, and website development.

Through a ten-month long, comprehensive program, the current and future leaders increase their knowledge and awareness of the issues and challenges facing the South Shore community.

Business-minded South Shore locals, entrepreneurs, travel/tourism operators and marketing professionals are invited to the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority and Tahoe Chamber's annual tourism forum. This year, the focus is “Welcoming the Global Guest.” The forum, which will focus on how Lake Tahoe businesses and locals can better prepare for international travelers, including Chinese visitors, will be held on Tuesday, April 18 from 8:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel.

Learn how to achieve a smooth and effective business relationship with the City of South Lake Tahoe in the next segment of the Tahoe Chamber's Level Up series. Learn requirements for planning, developing and permits needed to build or grow a business on the South Shore.
Attendees at the March 15 event will hear from the experts at both the City of South Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.
