The community is invited to attend the Tahoe Chamber’s 13th Annual Blue Ribbon Awards to honor South Shore businesses and individuals that have impacted the community for the better. In place of the annual awards dinner, winners will be announced in an awards show that is pre-filmed and broadcast on Lake Tahoe Television on November 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Tahoe Chamber collected 190 nominations from the community for the 13th annual Blue Ribbon Award to celebrate the businesses, non-profits and individuals that make the South Shore of Lake Tahoe so unique. Local businesses have been a resilient backbone of the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and honoring their contributions, achievements and milestones is more important than ever before.

The Tahoe Chamber is seeking nominations for the 13th annual Blue Ribbon Awards to honor South Shore businesses, organizations, and individuals for achievements, community contributions, and milestones. The community is encouraged to celebrate local business and nominate those who are deserving of recognition. The nomination period ends October 1, 2020.

The Tahoe Chamber is holding another one of their weekly Virtual Town Hall meetings on Friday, June 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This week the Chamber's Executive Director will host the meeting with guests El Dorado County's Public Health Officer Dr. Nancy Williams and Chief Administrative Officer Don Ashton.

They will provide updates on the County's response to COVID-19 and the reopening of businesses, as well as answering questions from attendees.

The Tahoe Chamber is inviting the business community to join them on Friday, May 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for another one of their popular Virtual Town Halls. This week, the Sierra Business Council and the Douglas County Vitality manager will discuss and provide guidance on the reopening of business in both California and Nevada and answer the community's questions.

The 2020 Expo has been canceled. They plan on returning in March 2021.

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - The annual Tahoe Chamber Business EXPO will be held on Friday, May 29 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Harrah's Tahoe. It was originally scheduled for March 27 but postponed due to coronavirus concerns.

The Tahoe Chamber’s annual Connect for a Cause Charity Mixer to benefit the local non-profit, Bread & Broth is moving to a new location at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Thursday, January 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The community is invited to enjoy this fun evening and support Bread & Broth in their fight against hunger in the South Shore.

Close to 70 nominees will be celebrated at the 12th annual Blue Ribbon Awards on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino. Join the Tahoe Chamber in celebrating the businesses and individuals that make the South Shore a great community to live, work and play. Admission to this event is $65 for Tahoe Chamber members and $85 for non-members. Tickets include champagne, wine and full 3-course dinner prepared by Harrah’s executive culinary team. Table sponsorships are also available for purchase.

The community is invited to join the Tahoe Chamber in their visit to Carson City on July 16 from noon to 5:00 p.m. to explore how Carson City leaders and community members successfully transformed and revitalized their downtown main street.

The developing Main Street Management Plan for South Lake Tahoe parallels much of what Carson City did, and those going on the trek will have the chance to learn about the history of Nevada project and how the current business climate of the area has improved since the highway realignment.

The next Tahoe Chamber Connect for a Cause charity mixer will be raising funds for Live Violence Free on Thursday, April 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Thoe AlexWorX.

The community invited to join in, have fun and support the essential services Live Violence Free provides for South Lake Tahoe. The non-profit is committed to promoting a violence-free community through education and advocacy to address domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and basic needs.

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – With a critical increase in active shooter events across the country, the Tahoe Chamber is holding a Level UP Workshop on the subject Wednesday, March 20 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in their Stateline office.

Workplace violence affects about 2 million workers in the U. S. each year. With this violence continuing to pose a looming threat, active shooter training is essential for all businesses. Active shooter events most commonly occur in businesses - 45 percent, schools - 25 percent, and government facilities - 10 percent.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - An upcoming workshop will focus on helping employers bridge the generational gaps and provide important information on how to engage each employee equally.

The Tahoe Chamber's Level UP workshop, Engaging the Generations, will be held on February 20 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Bread & Broth, the local nonprofit tasked with feeding those in need on the South Shore, will be the beneficiary of the annual Connect for a Cause Charity Mixer on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Riva Grill in South Lake Tahoe.

Hosted by the Tahoe Chamber, the mixer will raise funds and gather food donations for the group's Bread & Broth 4 Kids program which gives away up to 170 bags of food each weekend to local school children in grades K-8.

The Tahoe Chamber's GO Local & Win! campaign is returning to South Lake Tahoe for the 2018 holiday season. Starting on Small Business Saturday, November 24, the campaign is for business owners and operators, and local shoppers and diners.

Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce (Tahoe Chamber) is hosting a candidate forum on October 4 for candidates running for South Lake Tahoe City Council. Three City Council member seats are up for election, which includes those held by incumbents, and candidates, Wendy David, Tom Davis and Austin Sass. All nine candidates are confirmed to attend.

The forum will be held in the Lake Tahoe Community College Board Room from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

LAKE TAHOE, CA/NV - The winter job fair, Tahoe Works, will be held on October 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at MontBleu Resort. This hiring event puts the South Shore's employers in touch with those looking for jobs, all under one roof.

Attendess can also receive information on resources including housing and healthcare.

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - The 10th annual Nevada Tribal Tourism Conference is heading to the South Shore, April 23-25, 2018 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Stateline. The theme this year is "Revitalizing Culture Through Tourism."

The conference is focused on strategies on how the southwest tribes in Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah can effectively share their rich history and culture with visitors from around the globe.

The Tahoe Chamber is going on the trip of a lifetime, and you are invited. A nine-day trip to Northern Italy and the beautiful Italian lakes will depart on October 15, 2018.

Tahoe Chamber is holding their annual HR Employment Law Workshop on Wednesday, January 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Chamber Conference Room.

This workshop will provide attendees with the latest human resources information such as the new minimum wage requirements in California, cannabis in the workplace, and other employment laws in store for 2018. The workshop will be facilitated by MOBO Law Attorneys Cameron Bordner and Keenan Hawkins.

The cost for each Level UP Workshop is $10 for Chamber members and $20 for aspiring members. Be sure to bring your "brown bag" lunch.

The holidays are upon us which means ‘tis the season to GO Local! Tahoe Chamber’s annual GO Local & Win! contest is kicking off on Small Business Saturday, November 25. Simply pick up a GO Local & Win passport at participating businesses or download one online, then shop or dine at any of the participating business through January 1, 2018. For every $25 spent contestants will receive a stamp on their passport.
