Tahoe Tot Spot changes owners, celebrates with St. Patrick's Day party

A South Lake Tahoe couple has taken over the ownership at Tahoe Tot Spot, a place where the younger set can enjoy activities, interactions with other kids, crafts and more.
Julie Pardysz was relocating to Colorado and had the business up for sale. The Tot Spot was on the verge of having to close as no buyers were coming forward. At the last minute, Jen and Chris Bloch made an offer to keep the doors open.
Jen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and works the graveyard crisis shift with El Dorado County Mental Health as well as volunteering at the Warm Room. Chris is a Fire Captain with Contra Costa County Fire. The couple will keep their other jobs as they embark on the new venture with Tahoe Tot Spot. The pair has two small children, Coral, age 3 1/2 and Sequoia, 8 months.
"We're both keeping our jobs during this new venture and just committing to drinking A LOT more coffee," said Jen.
The Bloch's relocated to South Lake Tahoe three years ago from the SF Bay Area in search of more trees and less cars.
"We love the Tahoe community and wanted to be a part of it by keeping Tahoe Tot Spot open and increasing enrichment activities for our valuable youth," said Jen.
They have already made some major moves by operating the business seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for open play. Six days a week they have challenging workout classes during which you can bring your child with you and they try to have a baby wrangler as often as possible.
There is always tea and coffee available for parents as they watch their kids enjoying the play space. Jen is working on being a licensed facility so parents can actually drop off their kids and get some shopping done (or a moment of peace and quiet).
They have art and science activities every weekend, Tot Course (Toddler Obstacle Course) on Sunday and Monday and Tot Circle on Monday and Friday.
For St. Patrick's Day, Tot Spot had a day of activities for the little ones, including a bouncy house, and South Tahoe Now stopped by to have some fun. They continue holiday fun on March 26 when they'll have organic free-range eggs to dye.
They have a grand opening special running in March with 44% off six month memberships and 20% off all retail. They also have birthday party and event packages. Check out our website for more information: www.tahoetotspot.com
