Lake Tahoe starts the week with snow and ends with a sunny and warming weekend

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A potent spring storm will continue to impact the Sierra tonight into Monday morning with periods of heavy snowfall and hazardous
travel. Cool and snowy/rainy conditions persist through Tuesday but chances will diminish as the low exits the region. High pressure then builds for the second half of the week with a drying and warming pattern expected heading into the weekend.
The weekly forecast from the National Weather Service in Reno:
Monday - Snow. Some thunder is also possible. High near 37. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Monday Night - A 40 percent chance of snow. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. Calm wind. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Tuesday - A chance of snow before 2pm, then a chance of rain and snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tuesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 24. Northeast wind around 5 mph.
Wednesday - A 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms after 11am. Snow level rising to 7600 feet in the afternoon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.
Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 26.
Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 54.
Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 27.
Friday - Sunny, with a high near 57.
Friday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.
Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 57.
Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.
Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.
