SLT Planning Commission has two openings due to resignations

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The City is soliciting applications for two appointments to the Planning Commission to fill vacancies due to the resignations of Jamie Orr and Jessie Dwyer.

Orr is moving out of the City Limits and Dwyer is being relocated out of the area for work. Since all commissioners must reside in the South Lake Tahoe city limits, they can no longer serve.

The terms for the two new appointments will last eight months, until January, 2019.

The Planning Commission generally meets once a month, assuming there is business to conduct. The Planning Commission assists in the preparation, update of and recommendations to the City Council concerning the general plan for the physical development of the City; performs those duties set forth in Article 7 of the California Government Code under such conditions as the City Council may from time to time establish; and also serves as the Delinquent Refuse Hearing Board.

There is a meeting on Thursday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. On that agenda is the official acceptance of the resignation of the two commissioners, the Commission's Semi-Annual Report and a workshop on the sub-division of land. This is an opportunity for those interested in applying to see how the commission operates. With the resignation of Orr and Dwyer there are three members remaining, Chair Judy Brown, Vice-Chair Craig Woodward and Jenna Palacio, Commissioner.

Applications can be picked up at the City Clerk's Office located at 1901 Airport Road, South Lake Tahoe, California between 8:00 a.m.and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; downloaded from the City's website at www.cityofslt.us.; or can be emailed, mailed or faxed upon request to the City Clerk’s Office. Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk's Office no later than 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

The appointments will be made by the City Council at the May 1, 2018 City Council Meeting.
