Another week of typical Lake Tahoe spring weather: Snow, rain, and 60's

Timing of the incoming cold front has changed. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno, snow can be expected over the passes between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., instead of the early afternoon as previously forecasted.

There is a Lake Wind Advisory in effect from noon Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday for Lake Tahoe. Winds will be from the west-southwest 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

With the advisory come waves that will be 2-4 feet with the highest waves from mid-lake to the north and east shores.

Forecast from the NWS in Reno:

Today - A 30 percent chance of rain after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 52. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Tonight - Rain before 11pm, then rain and snow likely. Low around 35. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday - A chance of rain and snow showers before 11am, then rain showers. High near 48. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday Night - Showers. Low around 37. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Tuesday - Rain and snow showers, becoming all snow after 11am. High near 49. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday Night - A 20 percent chance of snow showers before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Wednesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 53.

Wednesday Night - A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31.

Thursday - A slight chance of snow showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 50.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 28.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 57.

Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 30.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 62.
