Tahoe Tot Spot celebrates grand re-opening under new ownership

Tahoe Tot Spot celebrates its grand re-opening under new ownership on Friday, May 1 at 5 p.m. Along with food, drinks and a Tahoe Chamber ribbon cutting, everyone is invited to meet Tahoe Tot Spot’s new owner Julie Koster Paradysz and learn more about this kid-centric business.

Paradysz arrives as the new owner of Tahoe Tot Spot with a wealth of knowledge in the recreation sector and unrivaled passion for small business ownership. After a career in recreation and marketing, Paradysz realized that her passion was in operating small businesses and jumped at the opportunity when she learned that Tahoe Tot Spot was for sale. Paradysz also owns and operates My Tahoe Chef, a private chef and boutique dessert company.

As the new owner, Paradysz plans to launch a series of new programs for Tahoe Tot Spot including an expanded adult fitness selection, which will include parent and baby fitness, as well as adult-solo fitness operating in conjunction with activities for children. Paradysz’s goal for Tahoe Tot Spot is to establish it as the community’s hub for families with young children and babies by offering something that no other fitness facility in town offers: adult fitness combined with activities for toddlers and babies.

“By offering parents the opportunity to work out with their children in the same space, you can leave your excuses at home and bring your little ones to the gym with you,” Paradysz said. This is ideal for those with small children, as finding the opportunity to work out presents a unique set of challenges in a town where this option did not exist before.

Paradysz also plans to expand the parental education components of Tahoe Tot Spot, including parenting classes, pre-natal and birthing courses, wellness programs and more. Many of the offerings the community has come to know and love about Tahoe Tot Spot will stay in place under Paradysz: open play times, afternoon fitness programs for children, parent and me toddler tumbling classes, music programs, art classes, specialty themed events and summer camps will all remain as part of its regular lineup. In Fall 2015, she will launch a new lineup of afternoon programs for children to be named “Kid Fit.” Program classes will include a wide variety of motor skill development activities for children from 2 to 5 years old including tumbling, hand-eye coordination activities, team building games, kid-friendly yoga and others.
