Highway 50 Car Accident Claims Life of Dayton Teenager

4:55 pm update - It has just been reported by the Washoe County Coroner's Office that a second victim in the accident has died. Munoz passed away Wednesday afternoon.
An accident on Tuesday between a car and a big rig on Highway 50 near Dayton, NV has claimed the life of 18 year old David Arroyo Lamas.
According the the NHP, Lamas was the passenger in a 2004 Audi driven by 18 year old Ana Laura Munoz of Carson City. Munoz was making a left turn from Ambrose lane onto westbound U.S. 50 and pulled in front of a red 2012 Volvo tractor and trailer being driven by 61 year old Gary Alan Williams of St. George, UT. The Audi and was struck on the driver’s side and came to rest on the South shoulder. The commercial vehicle traveled across both east and westbound lanes and overturned coming to rest on the North shoulder.
Lamas and Munoz were extricated from the car and transported to Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight with critical injuries. Williams was transported by ground ambulance to Renown with minor injuries and has since been treated and released. Munoz remains hospitalized and is still listed in critical condition according to the NHP.
