DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - There will be a virtual town hall debate on Monday, May 4 at 6:00 p.m. for the six candidates vying for the open three positions. Voters will have an opportunity to hear the candidates discuss the issues in depth prior to voting in the June primary.
Ballots have been mailed and voters will choose which candidates best represent their community and all of the residents. There has been much division over many topics including RDA2 and the recently approved convention center, roads, development, vacation homes, water companies, and people moving into Nevada from California.
Candidates:
District 1 - Dave Nelson, incumbent
District 3 - Larry Walsh, incumbent and board co-chair
District 3 - Mark Gardner
District 5 - Nathan Tolbert
District 5 - Walt Nowosad
District 4 represents the Lake Tahoe portion of the county. Wes Rice's term goes until 2022. District 2 represents much of the area along US395 from above Johnson Lane to the state line. His term also expires in 2022.
