Nine-year-old bike enthusiast Ruby Issac from Kettering, UK has been making the most of her role as "race reporter" for Specialized Bicycles at Amgen Tour of California. She won a contest to come to California with her family to be the official media person for the company during the races.
When the women's teams were presented at Harrah's Tahoe Wednesday evening, Ruby was right there with the Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team out of Holland.
When Anna van der Breggen of the team stepped onto the stage as the Stage 1 second-place finisher on Thursday, Ruby was there.
She has been reporting from South Lake Tahoe about a sport she is crazy about. Ruby is already a racer and aspires to be an Olympic cyclist one day.
“I love racing against people and trying my best,” Specialized quoted Ruby on their Facebook page. "We’re proud to have Ruby as our Race Reporter, because face it—we could all stand to be a little bit more like Ruby Isaac," they said.
