Jack Fisher, a 35-year gaming operations veteran with a strong Northern Nevada background, has been appointed General Manager at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa at Lake Tahoe, a Tropicana Entertainment Inc. property.
Fisher brings an appreciation of Lake Tahoe’s vacation destination appeal with MontBleu’s brand as an all-encompassing resort for year-round outdoor recreation with upscale amenities, four-star dining, gaming, nightlife and entertainment.
“We’ve got a great team and we’ll continue initiatives to bring all-star entertainment, deliver 4-star dining, comfortable resort amenities, a variety of gaming and 24/7 nightlife to South Lake Tahoe,” said Jack Fisher, General Manager at MontBleu Resort. “I plan to be involved in the community while seizing opportunities with new special events, variety of entertainment acts and position MontBleu as the place to play, dine, relax and game.”
Fisher will oversee day-to-day operations of the 437-room hotel with three restaurants including the Four-Diamond Ciera Steak + Chophouse, two nightclubs, three lounges, Onsen Spa, 16,000-sq. ft. convention center and a 1,700-seat showroom.
With his expertise and dedication in resort and casino leadership, Fisher sees potential to attract visitors and locals with the spa, dining and entertainment areas as well as gaming. He will oversee MontBleu's first Summer Concert Series, an outdoor amphitheater that will hold more than 4,000 people and feature 6 to 10 concerts.
"We look forward to gaining Jack's knowledge of the market and benefiting from his significant amount of experience," said Tony Rodio, Chief Executive Officer of Tropicana Entertainment. "We are sure Jack will help the property to continue to build on the success it has already experienced the last few years."
Fisher has previous held top management positions at a number of Northern Nevada and Native American resort and casino operations, notably serving as VP/General Manager of Boomtown Casino and Hotel in Reno. Fisher worked his way through the ranks from dishwasher to VP/General Manager for his last 14 years of tenure at Boomtown.
Fisher, attended the University of Nevada at Reno from 1973 to 1975. He has served on the board of directors for the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority, was a participating board member of the Nevada Resort Association, a board member and campaign chair of United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra and a member of the Sierra Business Council. Fisher is an accomplished public speaker and a graduate of Dale Carnegie Training.
