South Tahoe and Whittell Highs each with three 1st place finishes so far at State

Local athletes will be coming home from the 2017 NIAA State Track and Field Championships in Southern Nevada with medals around their necks.
Results on the first day of the meet on Friday, April 19:
Division 1 results:
Boys 800 Meter Run
Cole Snyder from Whittell High School - 2nd
Boys 100 Meter Dash
Pierce Manchester from Whittell High School - 4th
Girls 4 x 200 Meter Relay
Whittell - 1st (Anna White, Michelle Barnes, Samantha Forvilly, Kyla Rippett)
Girls 400 Meter Dash
Anna White from Whittell High School - 1st
Girls 200 Meter Dash
Kyla Rippett from Whittell High School - 4th
Boys 3200 Meter Run
Cole Snyder from Whittell High School - 5th
Boys 4 x 400 Meter Relay
Whittell High School - 3rd (Pierce Manchester, Nick Petty, Dismas Womack, Isaiah Womack)
Girls Long Jump
Samantha Forvilly from Whittell High School - 1st
In their first nine events, Whittell's Boys Team is in fourth in team rankings for the state and the girls are in fifth.

In the first nine events, South Tahoe High is tied for second in team rankings for the state.
Day two of the NIAA meet will be on Saturday, May 20 starting at 8:00 a.m.
