Monthly gaming figures released: Lake Tahoe and Nevada both show gains

Casinos on the South Shore are once again on the positive end of the monthly income report from the Nevada Gaming Board (NGB) released Wednesday.
With three quarters of the fiscal year completed, the combination of Harrah's, Harvey's, MontBleu, Hard Rock and Lakeside Inn have had positive gains in income with a 5.39 percent increase over the same nine-month period in 2016. For the month of April, their income of $13,286,841 is up 4.55 percent, or $578,646, from April, 2016.
North Shore casinos posted a 10.97 percent gain in April, making them almost equal to 2016 for the first nine months of the reporting period.
The gaming "win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.
Biggest gains for April were seen in Downtown Las Vegas where they took in $52,295,316, a 21.89 percent increase.
Washoe County and the Las Vegas Strip both has loses in April.
Nevada as a whole was up 1.19 percent in April with a "win" of $10,393,611.
The casinos have paid the state of Nevada $636,785,597 in fees based on this taxable income over the last nine months.
