A suspect has been identified in the May 23 hit-and-run collision between a vehicle and bicyclist on State Route 28 near Stateline Road in Crystal Bay.
Nevada Highway Patrol(NHP) troopers in the Tahoe area received a tip about a possible suspect and vehicle at a residence in Crystal Bay. Troopers made contact at the residence during the afternoon of Wednesday, May 30, and located the involved vehicle. The resident admitted to his involvement as the driver in the crash.
No name has been released.
"Thank you to all of you for the media coverage and the assistance in helping us to find the driver in this hit-and-run crash," said NHP Trooper Matt McLaughlin. "Often times, these crashes go unsolved. Thanks to the partnerships between the media, our department and citizens, we were able to identify the driver and vehicle in a short period of time."
