Chief's Monthly Report: Coffee with a Cop and Open House news

For the month of June, we are planning kick off our “Meet the Police” outreach campaign. Two efforts—our Open House, and Coffee with a Cop will be starting in June. The police department strives to blend community service and protection of its residents. The more we hear from you, the better we are able to provide excellence in public service. Stop by and share what’s going on in your neighborhood, what you are concerned about, and of course we’re happy to hear good news as well.

Open House: The South Lake Tahoe Police Department invites you to our first open house. The event is on Thursday, June 11th, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the police building located at 1352 Johnson Blvd. We will have a wide variety of police equipment and vehicles on-hand. Part of the reason for this event it to promote transparency and give our community an opportunity to see the department and meet with police officers and unsworn staff. All too often, the only time you might meet a police employee is at an accident scene or when they are responding to a call for help. During the open house, you will have a chance to talk “off-line” and get to know some of our excellent people. We will have some cake and activities for all who come.
