June 6, 2015 (All day)
There are plenty of opportunities to get rid of all electronic waste (e-waste) hanging around your home over the weekend. spe
On Saturday, June 6, e-waste will be collected by Electronic Waste Management at both the South Tahoe Middle School and during Clean Tahoe Day at South Tahoe Refuse. The company will be at the school from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at the dump from 8 a.m. to p.m.
On Sunday, June 7 the company will take collections from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at South Tahoe Middle School.
The type of waste that will be collected is extensive. You may drop off computers including modem, mouse, monitors and keyboards, phones, audio-visual equipment, coaxial cables, DVD players, MP3 players, speakers, projects, printers and copiers, power supplies, cameras, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, scanners, steel and alloy rims, TVs, vacuums, toner cartridges, microwave ovens and steel scrap. These are all items that cannot go into normal landfill.
What isn't taken: batteries, air conditioners, ammunition, chemicals and oils, furniture, fluorescent bulbs, hazardous materials, paint, propane canisters, large household items and wooden speakers.
For items not allowed at the e-waste event, take advantage of Community Clean Up Day sponsored by Clean Tahoe at South Tahoe Refuse on June 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All car and pickup loads will be $5 each with a slight extra fee for large appliances.
