STATELINE, Nev. - The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) has released more information on Thursday's fatal motorcycle crash on Kingsbury Grade/SR-207.
At approximately 2:23 p.m. on June 11, NHP troopers were dispatched to a fatal collision involving three motorcycles at the curve between Palisades Drive and Katherine Court in Stateline, Nevada.
The preliminary investigation shows a burgundy 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on SR-207 and entered a right hairpin curve. Traveling in the opposite direction were two motorcycles: a red 2016 Harley Davidson and a blue 2010 Harley Davidson.
The burgundy Harley Davidson veered left, crossing the double yellow centerline, and entered the westbound travel lane wrong-way and directly in the paths of the two oncoming motorcycles. The burgundy Harley Davidson struck the red Harley Davidson head-on and was subsequently struck by the blue Harley Davidson.
The rider of the burgundy Harley Davidson motorcycle has been identified as Paul Bartell, a 71-year-old man from Jackson, Calif. He was ejected and declared deceased at the scene.
