Young local thespians perform Disney Peter Pan, Junior

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Most remember the enchanting play and Disney movie about a boy who didn't want to grow up, a gifted storytelling sister, fairies and a dangerous pirate, all told in the story "Peter Pan."

Now this story will unfold on the TADA stage at South Tahoe High School as young thespians participating in Children's Theater perform in the one hour show. The participants are in grades 1-8, with high school students (and recent graduates) taking on the stage and tech jobs. In two week's they've had rehearsals, done costuming, learned stage direction, blocking, choreography and overall theater education.

Directors Marcia Sarosik and Liz Niven have worked together with young actors for 30 years. They take great care to ensure all who want to participate, can. The cost of Children's Theater is one-fourth of many other summer programs, and what students learn can last last a lifetime. This year they were once again joined by Kylee Weiss, their musical theater intern.

There will be two shows of Peter Pan, Jr. on Saturday, June 30, 2018, one at 1:00 p.m. followed by an evening performance at 6:00 p.m. Cost is just $5 for adults, $2 for children. The public is invited and with the singing and performances, they won't be disappointed.
