Lisa "The Angel of Tahoe" Maloff continues to spread her blessings around South Lake Tahoe, and this time Live Violence free was the recipient.
The carpet at their office on Lake Tahoe Boulevard was in serious need of replacing as it had become a safety hazard with its ripples. Kids that visit the non-profit agency for services often ended up playing on the thread bare carpet that had seen better days.
Crews were at the office this week, ripping out the old carpet and putting in new flooring, something that is waterproof and easy to clean.
Mrs. Maloff's donation of $48,000 will put the new flooring throughout the building.
"Our clients deserve a nice environment when they visit us," said Jane Flavin, the executive director of Live Violence Free. "It is an honor to be given this gift and that Lisa thought of us."
Flavin said new flooring isn't something grants would cover so they've been trying to save for the project.
Live Violence Free promotes a violence free community through education and advocacy to address domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and basic needs.
