The South Lake Tahoe Rite Aid store is undergoing a major remodel along with about 450 other locations that will bring in changes, including a Thrifty Ice Cream shop and wellness center.
According to corporate headquarters, stores are being remodeled to create a new shopping experience for customers, one that is centered on wellness. Wellness Stores offer an expanded offering of clinical pharmacy services and health and wellness products including Medication therapy management, Consultation rooms for private discussions with a Rite Aid pharmacist, Organic and gluten-free foods and beverages, all-natural personal care and home care products, GNC nutritional supplements, fitness and workout equipment for purchase, as well as expanded wellness magazine and book sections.
Thrifty Ice Cream is offered in many Rite-Aid locations.
The South Lake Tahoe store will operate in a smaller space. It is unknown at this time what will go in the space made from a reduced Rite Aid floor space.
Remodeling is expected to take about six weeks.
