South Lake Tahoe Reacts To The New iPhone Release

The much awaited for, and greatly hyped up day is finally here. Today was the day over 1 billion iPhone users around the world have been anticipating. Unless you haven't been tuned into the news or commercials, you know today was Apple's release of their iPhone 5s and 5c, which came 2 days after their release of their new iOS 7 operating system software.

The early morning news showed lines of customers around shopping malls and storefronts throughout the country. The Apple Store in Reno's Summit Mall had consumers wrapping around the mall past retailers Old Navy and Sephora.

South Lake Tahoe had their own lines, just smaller and scaled to match the population. Yellow Pager owner France Carreau said they had people in line before they opened their doors today. They quickly sold out and all phones were gone by 10 am. The local Verizon store sold out of their phones early as well according to manager Tony Herrera. He fielded over 30 phone calls and in store requests for the phone during the day.

Depending on the new iPhone color one wants, internet orders are now back ordered into October, or, in the case of the gold phone, into November. Both local stores will process orders for all customers.

According to Carreau, "Apple has finally put out something that I feel good about because of it's better operating system."
