Crews are still at the scene of a broken water main tonight at the state line. A 12" water main pipe under ground burst at the crosswalk between Harrah's and Harveys. South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue responded to help turn off valves as did transportation workers.
The pipe carries water for the Edgewood Water Company, the supplies to all of the casinos and golf course.
At approximately 3:00 p.m. Saturday, water was flowing down Highway 50, flooding the street near Marriott Timber Lodge.
As of 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 at Stateline were being rerouted down Stateline Avenue to allow crews to repair the pipe. The road is dug up in front of the western entrance to Harrah's.
Westbound traffic was unaffected.
