The students and staff of Mt. Tallac High School completed their annual trek to the top of their namesake, Mt. Tallac.
Principal Holly Greenough said she wanted to thank John Marchini of South Tahoe Refuse and Steve and Mo Froyum for once again preparing and providing a "delicious lunch" for the hikers. Mo prepared burritos with all the fixings and snack bags for each student. John, Steve and two students, Carlos Lopez and Jaime Salas, carried the food 2 miles up to Cathedral Lake for everyone to enjoy.
"We are honored to have such thoughtful and amazing partners in education," said Greenough. "We also had the support and encouragement of Ryan Wallace who hiked to Cathedral Lake with us on his prosthetic leg, then swam the lake and hiked back with us to the trailhead. Ryan’s drive and determination serve as a model for us all!"
