It is still unclear if the budget will be completed to a point where council can vote on it at this meeting. There's still a possibility the budget will not be finalized until later this month.
The city has until Oct. 31 to pass a budget; it is operating on an interim budget at this time.
The South Lake Tahoe City Council will pull an all-day meeting Tuesday, Oct. 18.
The regular meeting begins at 9 a.m. with the “State of the City” address by Mayor Hal Cole. Because this is still a regular meeting, there will be other consent agenda items and business to attend to.
A closed session is to follow, where labor negotiations teams will give their final report before the council makes a move on the budget. A tentative agreement between Labor and the city is still pending.
