How much will it snow in South Lake Tahoe?

Enjoy the fair weather on Halloween for Trick-or-Treating because change is coming.

Forecasters are calling the weather system heading to Lake Tahoe Sunday evening the first storm of the year, but what it will actually leave behind is still sketchy and will become more clear as the system approaches the Sierra.

OpenSnow.com lists weather for ski areas, and they show the snow forecast by the summit elevation, base elevation and forecast elevation. They are using 8,320 ft to determine the following snowfall: On Sunday evening, they are calling for 3-5", followed by 3-7" Monday and up to 1" on Tuesday.

Accuweather is predicting .39" of snow at lake level Sunday night, 1.1" on Monday and 1.1" on Tuesday.
