Woman in stable condition after crosswalk accident

UPDATED NOV. 3: A 43-year-old woman was seriously injured and taken to Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight after being hit in a crosswalk on Monday afternoon in Gardnerville, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
Blanca Lydia Garcia-Herrera suffered some broken bones and is in stable condition at Regional Medical Center in Reno.
An accident investigation indicates Garcia-Herrera was walking in a crosswalk to an entrance to an O’Reilly vehicle parts store at 2:37 p.m. on Highway 395 north of Kingslane, said Trooper Dan Lopez.

A white Toyota truck driven by a 23-year-old Gardnerville resident was waiting for the pedestrian to get to the other side of the crosswalk. As the driver of the the Toyota truck waited in the number two travel lane, a gray Toyota Camry driven by a 24-year-old Reno resident struck the rear of the white truck causing the truck to move forward striking the 43-year-old victim. Garcia-Herrera sustained was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight, Lopez said.
Both drivers of the other two vehicles were transported via ground to the Carson Valley Medical Center for non life threatening injuries.
