Caltrans holds second public meeting on their Echo Summit Sidehill Viaduct project

A 77-year old portion of Highway 50 over Echo Summit is planned for replacement starting in 2019 due to cracking, spalling and rusting. The project will affect both South Lake Tahoe and Placerville, and those in-between so Caltrans is holding meetings to keep the public informed.
Project coordinators were in South Lake Tahoe on October 20 for the most recent meeting, and now they are taking the information show on the road to Placerville on November 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
They will meet with community members in the Placerville Town Hall's City Council Chambers located at 549 Main Street, Placerville.
Public comment is still be gathered and those from the South Shore not wanting to make the trip may do so HERE. Even though the page says comments are only only taken until November 3, Caltrans extended that period to November 19 due to a request at the South Lake Tahoe meeting made by interim directors of the Tahoe Chamber.
