SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The El Dorado County Elections Department has tabulated another 16,320 ballots. They plan to have the count of 9,200 mail-in ballots completed Friday. Then there will be about 1,200 provisional ballots left to count and some ballots that were waiting on signature corrections.
At this time, 105,725 ballots have been counted of the possible 135,554 voters (77.99%).
Cristi Creegan and John Friedrich continue to lead the count for the two open South Lake Tahoe City Council seats. Measure S, the one-percent sales tax increase for the city, appears to be heading to passage, leading as of election night with 60.58 percent of the vote. Shane Rosmos is leading for the two-year term at South Tahoe Public Utility District to fill the seat left vacant with the passing of Jim Jones, and David Peterson and Kelly Sheehan are top runners for the two four-year seats.

You will notice "Undervotes" and "Overvotes" on some of the races. An undervote means the voter didn't select all candidates they could, and an overvote is the opposite, the voter selected more candidates than they were allowed to. In that case, the person's whole vote for that candidate or issue will be canceled.
