Ballot counts for El Dorado County and South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Tue, 11/03/2020 - 8:48pm
10:46 P.M. UPDATE: Both El Dorado County and Douglas County have released an updated count at this hour. For El Dorado County, 149 of 209 precincts have now been tabulated. Depending on the area, Douglas County shows about 72 percent of Tuesday's votes listed.
9:40 P.M. UPDATE: A second count has been released by El Dorado County Elections with 125 of the 202 precincts now in. Staff cannot leave tonight by law until all votes cast at a polling place on Tuesday have been counted. As of 9:00 p.m. they were waiting for the two South Lake Tahoe area precinct ballots to arrive in Placerville. Then, on Wednesday, they'll resume with mail-in ballots and those dropped off in ballot boxes since the last pickup.
You will notice "Undervotes" and "Overvotes" on some of the races. An undervote means the voter didn't select all candidates they could, and an overvote is the opposite, the voter selected more candidates than they were allowed to. In that case, the person's whole vote for that candidate or issue will be canceled.
Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) saw 607 people turn up in person to vote Tuesday. Over the last three days at the vote center, 201,81, and 247 people voted. Over at the California Conservation Corps building, 240 voted Tuesday with the previous three days at 127, 44, and 90.
The busiest vote center in El Dorado County was in Cameron Park where 811 people showed up on Election Day. LTCC was the second busiest in the county.
