A group from South Lake Tahoe will be returning to Tijuana on November 22 to deliver school supplies to children who are living in shelters while they seek asylum in the United States. The shelters house hundreds of children, many of whom have spent months, if not years, outside of the school system. Many may not have ever been able to attend in their home countries.
The children are being taught by a volunteer-led mobile school project. The most needed supplies are: Notebooks, backpacks, paint, glue, table games, and all general school supplies,
Please take donations to Unity at the Lake Friday, November 15, between 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. or one Sunday, November 17, at 9:30 a.m. or noon.
People can also contribute directly to the mobile school project here:

During the last trip to the border in June, organizer John Friedrich took a car filled up of donations from the community.
