Event Date:
December 11, 2013 - 6:30pm
El Dorado County, Douglas County, and the City of South Lake Tahoe are hosting two community workshops on December 11-12, 2013 to discuss the role that outdoor recreation plays in enhancing tourism and community livability for the South Shore. This is a great opportunity for residents to share their insights about parks, recreation, trails, events and programs, so that recreation opportunities can be improved in the future.
All South Shore residents are invited to attend either workshop. The first workshop will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, from 6:30-8:30 pm at South Tahoe High School Student Union, located at 1735 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe. A second workshop will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 6:30-8:30 pm at Kahle Community Center, located at 236 Kingsbury Grade, Stateline, Nevada.
Feedback from these workshops will be used to develop recommendations for two recreation plans for the South Shore which include the Parks, Trails and Recreation Master Plan for South Lake Tahoe and El Dorado County and the Tahoe Basin Recreation and Tourism Plan for Douglas County.
A large group discussion about the community’s future vision for parks, recreation and trails, plus the role recreation should play in supporting tourism and economic vitality.
This is the community’s chance to help shape the future of recreation and tourism for the South Shore. Anyone ages 15 and over is invited to participate and share their ideas. Residents are encouraged to invite their colleagues, friends, and co-workers to join us this important conversation about the future. View the Master Plan.
