The Grow Domes at Sierra House Elementary in South Lake Tahoe have blossomed over the past few weeks. Progress has been swift on the two domes and learning center that will allow students to grow their own organic vegetables for school lunches. Students will also use the domes to study soils, verimculture and aquaponics as well as using the process to study math, science and language arts.
Principal Ryan Galles said there are so many people to thank who have given extra time and energy to this project. "I want to specifically mention thank you’s at this time to Tyson Terpening, Ron Fuller, Thomas Haen, Kemper Hendrick, Yonker Construction, Michelle McLean, Rebecca Bryson and Steve Morales for helping to make the construction phase of the project move so swiftly," said Galles.
The domes are now ready for interior work which will begin soon.
