The holidays will be a little brighter for more than 100 underprivileged local children/teenagers thanks to Tahoe Regional Young Professionals (TRYP) raising $5,000 at the organization’s 2nd Annual Winter White Holiday Party.
The Young Professions organized a holiday ‘FUN’draiser to benefit Tahoe’s SkiDUCK, (SKi and snowboarding for Disabled and Underprivileged Children and older Kids) at Riva Grill last month which included an evening of live music, raffle prizes, silent auction items, photo booth, games, food and drinks.
“The evening was a complete success and I would like to send a huge thanks to the Tahoe Regional Young Professionals and their amazing Board of Directors for putting on a fantastic fun filled event and for having SkiDUCK as the beneficiary of the Winter White Holiday Party,” said David Westall, executive director of SkiDUCK. “This event solidified that Tahoe is an amazing place and that the people who reside in Tahoe are not afraid to live outside of themselves and support those who are less fortunate.”
SkiDUCK (www.skiduck.org) is a new, grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of disabled and underprivileged children by sharing the joys of skiing and snowboarding. SKiDUCK is run entirely by volunteers, and all donations received will go directly to support their programs. They work directly with several resorts in Lake Tahoe and help local “Kids in Need, Shred for Free!” For a recap of the evening from their perspective visit: http://www.westallrealestate.com.
TRYP annual sponsors to-date include: Elevated Fitness, Sullivan Law, Tahoe Production House, Tahoe Social, South Tahoe Refuse & Recycling Services and U.S. Bank. Email TahoeTRYP@gmail.com to learn about sponsorship opportunities.
