Dress like Santa and enjoy Sunday's Santa Fun Run

Time to get your Santa on and run in the annual South Lake Tahoe Santa Run! Grab your Santa suits and hats and enjoy a 1.3 mile run up Ski Run Blvd from Blue Angel Cafe to Himmel Haus.
The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation (HSSF) is holding their annual Santa Run on Sunday, December 21 at 4:00 p.m., rain or snow. They will be raising funds for the HSSF Scholarship Fund wil the help of Himmel Haus, Blue Angel Cafe and Rainbow Mountain.
“Running in Santa costumes for charity is a fun, win-win situation to me,” said Zakariah Latzka, Himmel Haus owner. “We are excited to be involved in helping the community that has so graciously embraced us and our business.”
Catch Santa on the slopes at Heavenly that day and then join him for the Santa Run that evening. Pre-registration is available at www.heavenlyfoundationteam.org or in-person at the Himmel Haus, 3819 Saddle Rd. Cost is $20 plus an unwrapped new toy to be donated and includes one Himmel Haus post-party door-prize raffle tickets. Participation is limited, advanced registration is recommended.
Day of registration is $30 plus an unwrapped toy and will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blue Angel Café. All participants must be in Santa attire (or some form of holiday garb).
Prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers and best costume. Costume judging will take place at the Blue Angel Café at 4:00 p.m. with awards presented at the Himmel Haus post-party.
All Santas will need to be at the Blue Angel Café and checked-in at registration by 4:00 p.m. to participate. The race bells will jingle at 4:30pm, Santas will run 1.3 miles up Ski Run Blvd. and turn left onto Saddle Rd. leading them to the finish at the Himmel Haus. A decorated holiday Himmel Haus bus playing music and filled with toys will follow the Santas, just in case a few need to be picked up along the route.
The festivities will kick-off at the Blue Angel Café with $3 glasses of warm glühwein and will continue at the Himmel Haus that evening beginning at 5 p.m. with $5 pints of Ninkasi Sleigh’r Dark Double Alt Ale or Venn Dortmund-Style Lager, holiday tree, door-prize raffle, coloring contest for kids, and fun activities for all, children are welcome.
The evening’s highlight will be the $15 Holiday Dinner being offered by the Himmel Haus. Including holiday traditional gourmet food like roast, sausage, potatoes, vegetables. Live music and holiday sing-a-longs will top the evening’s event list. Everyone is encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to be donated. A “Giving Tree” for the Heavenly Ski & Snowboard Foundation will be displayed at the Himmel Haus throughout the holidays, please donate to our local athletes by purchasing an ornament.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the Himmel Haus post-party. Items will include Heavenly Gondola and day lift tickets, snowboard boots, accessories, skies, and tons of other great stuff!
