Could it be a white Christmas in Lake Tahoe?

A small front will pass by Lake Tahoe Tuesday, with a wintery mix of Rain, snow and sleet, with a chance of some accumulation of snow, but forecasters are looking at Friday night into Saturday for a stronger storm that could drop measurable snow.
Both of these systems could impact travel over the Sierras. With Friday a major holiday travel day, those on the road should be prepared. Snow could cover roads and chain controls are expected at higher elevations.
A second and stronger winter storm is possible by Friday afternoon into Saturday morning (Christmas Eve). This storm has the potential for producing significant snowfall amounts through the Sierra beginning Friday with western Nevada seeing chances for snow accumulations by early Saturday morning.
At this point, Christmas Day may see remnants of the Friday night storm with a slight chance of snow. More will be known as the system gets closer.
