South Lake Tahoe ski, snowboard and weather report for Wednesday

The following is the ski, snowboard and weather report for Wednesday, December 30, 2015 for South Lake Tahoe brought to you by Lake Tahoe SkiBum.

Weather - South Lake Tahoe will have a high of 35 and a low of 15]0. Today: A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 35. West wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Little or no snow accumulation expected. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 10. East wind around 5 mph.

Heavenly - Packed Powder. No New Snow in last 24 hours. 98% of their terrain is now open which means 4700 acres, 28 lifts and 95 runs are open. The base depth is 63". Lift status. A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 25. Windy, with a north wind 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Message from Heavenly: No new snow overnight but we received 8" in the past 48 hours. Today's forecast is calling for a 20% chance of snow, and then partly sunny skies, with a high near 25°. Moderate W winds are expected with possible strong gusts. Weather permitting; we will have 28 lifts spinning from 8:30am-4:00pm giving access to 95 runs, of which nearly 50% were freshly groomed overnight. Our groomers suggest Mombo in CA and Olympic Downhill in NV as their trail picks of the day!

Sierra-at-Tahoe - Packed Powder. No new snow. 11 lifts are open. Burton Progressive, Bashful and Upper Snowshoe pipes are open. Groomed conditions on 31 of their open 45 runs. Base depth is 40". Lift status. A 30 percent chance of snow showers after 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 31. West wind around 9 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Kirkwood - Packed Powder. No new snow. 100% of the mountain terrain is open with 2300 acres, 12 lifts and 86 runs. 66" base.Lift status. The base depth is 66". A 20 percent chance of snow showers after 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 28. West southwest wind around 8 mph.
